I must agree this printer is more a hassel than a help i pay $41.00 each time i have to buy new cartridges it is an expensive non-expensive printer!!!!!! it is not a good deal!

DON’T BUY THIS EVEN IF IT’S FREE AND THEY BEG YOU TO TAKE IT. IT’S A RIP-OFF. YOU ARE STUCK WITH BUYING NEW CARTRIDGES WHICH COST AS MUCH AS THE PRINTER ITSELF AND LAST VERY LITTLE. THE PRINTER MAKES SURE IT USES AS MUCH INK AS POSSIBLE. I HAD TO BUY A NEW ONE WITH REFILLABLE CARTRIDGES OR A CISS SYSTEM.

It sounds like your looking for something with an “auto answer” feature. You can set the number of rings until the fax machine takes it in as a fax. This Lexmark X5650 has that feature.

Can this product send and receive fax without someone give the signal to receive it. Thats the only thing i want to know everything else is really good and i am familiar with. Does it need its own phone line or not for the fax.
