How does Ticketmaster prevent people just making copies of e tickets and thier bar codes?
I buy a concert ticket, and print out the ticket on my printer. What is to prevent someone from making a color copy of that ticket, getting to the arena before me, and be sitting in my purchased seat, as I get stopped outside the arena?
They cant……..it is your responsibility to keep the information / barcode to yourself. ‘That is why the ticket is sold by a HTTPS connection (secured)
Once a specific barcode is scanned at the venue, no other identical codes are accepted.
You usually have to show photo ID or the credit card it was purchased on in order to be admitted.

The bar code on the ticket is unique to your ticket.
So if someone tries to duplicate your ticket, they would need to know how to reconstruct that bar code.
Depending upon the size of the venue, the promoters will usually be prepared for this & have access to a list of the original tickets & who purchased them. In this case the evil person who forged your ticket would be swiftly escorted from the premises, possibly stopping by to chat to Mr Policeman along the way.
